Yang= daytime, activity, warmth, up & out. Yin = night, rest, cool, down & in.
For sleep to occur, Yang needs to descend and nestle comfortably under Yin, like being tucked into a cozy bed.
In East Asian Medicine, there are many causes for sleep difficulties. The main issue is that the Yang and Spirit (or Shen) aren’t anchored at night. This can be caused by an anchor that is too weak to keep the Shen and Yang from floating upwards; heat in the body and organs can cause qi to flare up instead of settling down (especially in the stomach, i.e.heartburn, indigestion). Good quality blood (Yin) may be unavailable to make a comfy place for the Shen to rest at night so it becomes agitated or restless. This formula creates optimal conditions for Yang to descend by opening the pathway, creating a cozy place to rest, and clearing heat in the center. We’ve added some gentle, sleepy, and calming herbs to help you drift off, not to knock you out and hold you under, or so you won’t wake up groggy.

Body Dosing, (recommended for physical issues): 1/4 to 1 dropper full (1 ml) in a small
glass of water or juice, or take it straight up. Take right before bed when you’re ready to
sleep.

•Take a week or two off every 6-8 weeks if you are taking tinctures daily.
• If you’re sensitive to alcohol or avoiding it, evaporate the alcohol by dropping the dose in
boiling water and letting it steam off.
