How do you come up with your formulas?

Each formula is thoughtfully developed and carefully structured according to the theories of Classical East Asian and Plant Spirit Medicine. Our team of herbalists have collectively been living, breathing, studying, teaching, and applying herbalism in clinical settings for over 65 years.

Are your products safe?

We take safety very seriously, and formulate our products to be safe for all, even elders and kids. We steer clear of herbs that are widely contraindicated so that most people can safely use our products. Our tinctures are carefully formulated by a team of herbalists with over 65 years of combined clinical experience.

We use herbs that are organic, have been grown under organic conditions, or wild-foraged whenever possible. In situations where organic herbs are not available, we only source from suppliers who exercise the utmost care and integrity to ensure quality and safety. Each ingredient we purchase is 3rd party tested for toxins, residues, and metals. Once ready for bottling, we test each completed batch again through a 3rd party lab.

How long are the tinctures good for?

Alcohol-based tinctures have an unlimited shelf life and do not require refrigeration if stored in a cool, dark location. If you notice that the tincture looks thick, it may have evaporated and you should dispose of it.

How long does it take for the tinctures to take effect?

You should notice a subtle yet palpable shift within 30 to 45 minutes. If you do not, take a second dose. Therapeutic doses can differ from body to body, and situation to situation. For chronic conditions, we recommend starting and ending your day with a dose.

Take a week or two off every 6-8 weeks if you are taking tinctures daily.

What is the difference between micro dosing and body dosing?

Micro-dosing can have a stronger effect on energetic and psycho-mental-emotional levels. We recommend taking 3-10 drops at a time. Repeat as needed.

Body dosing works better for physical issues. We recommend taking 1/2 to 1 full pipette at a time. Repeat as needed.

Start at a lower dosage—less is more!

How do I take the tinctures?

If you can, take them neat. Holding the dose under the tongue for 15-30 seconds will allow for faster and more complete absorption, especially if micro-dosing.

Otherwise, dilute tincture in a tiny amount of water and hold that under your tongue. Or you can add a full pipette to a small glass of water, juice, or tea and drink. However, absorption will be slower and less complete if taken this way.

Can I get help in deciding which formulas are right for me?

Of course! Feel free to reach out to us via the contact page on our website. We will do our best to get back to you within 72 hours of receiving your question.

Do your tinctures taste bad?

To be honest, they don’t taste great. But if you drop your dose into a tablespoon of water, you will barely notice it! The flavors of herbs play a crucial role in the effects of herbal medicine. Most people get used to the taste and find that they can even taste good.

Why is there alcohol in your products?

Alcohol is the best way to extract and preserve the chemical constituents of the herbs. We macerate our herbs in organic, gluten-free cane alcohol for a minimum of 8-12 weeks before straining and bottling. This is a traditional method of making tincture. There is a very low amount of alcohol in each serving, equivalent to what’s naturally found in a half a banana or 8 ounce glass of orange juice due to natural fermentation.

Why does my tincture look different than the last time I ordered?

Sometimes, herbs are picked at different times in their growing cycle, they may have come from a different region, or they are soaked for longer due to internal logistics. The efficacy will be the same.
