It’s rooted in the mountains of upstate NY, where founder Julia Rose calls home, and owes its legacy to a childhood spent between California, her Jewish dad’s America, and her mom’s native Japan. Like Julia’s own lineage, Rose & Rosey’s Alchemy blends the wisdom of East and West. The heartbeat of Rose & Rosey’s has always been family — its origins grounded in the love and imprint of Julia’s own parents. Following suit, Julia cultivates Rose & Rosey’s Alchemy both for and with her own kids, Maya (alias: Rosey) and Seiya. In the spirit of natural living, she homeschooled both children, a rhythm of learning and living that shaped Maya into an adept kitchen alchemist in training.
Integral to the alchemy of Rose & Rosey’s, Maya completes the eponymous mother-daughter axis, and her approach to herbal medicine reproduces. The family garden overflows with medicinal and culinary herbs, and a visit to their kitchen may deliver an impromptu Japanese curry, a matzo ball soup, or a mash-up of the two. Since her earliest days, Maya accompanies her mom on foraging walks and in the garden and growing up with herbalism as an essential part of her daily life. Now, as the brand’s Creative Nymph, she leads content and vision with forward momentum, bringing youthful insight to an ancient healing art and using the blends to support her growing body and expansive teenage mind.
